Villagers in Minecraft will spawn in their respective buildings and it depends on their job. If you trade with villagers, it will fill their rank bar. If the bar of the villager is bad, happy particles (green particles) and purple bubble-like particles will come up and the villager will unlock more of its item to be able to exchange for.
As you also can see in the list above that each villager with each job trades different things. But some villagers do not trade at all unless they were given a profession by using a kind of job block or if they in question’s trading system has been mixed out by trading with the villager enough to rank it up to the max level which is Master level.
Villagers which are unemployed will wander the village to look for a job site block to claim. In the village, the job site block can be anywhere as long as it is unclaimed and unobstructed. If the villagers’ job site block has been destroyed, they will lose their job unless they have been traded with before.
