The only thing works for fans of Minecraft on PlayStation and the quintessential edition of Minecraft is logging into a Microsoft Account in order to enable cross-play. Fortunately, it is really easy to set it all up.

If you want to connect the Xbox Live account to the PlayStation’s version of Minecraft, the first thing that should be done is to make sure you have Minecraft on PlayStation. If you do not have one, you can purchase it from Amazon or through the PlayStation Store. Each current owner of PS4 Edition will also get a completely free update to move to the Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Then, make sure you have a Microsoft Account. The next thing that you need to do is to make sure you have an extra device. Your PS4 will ask you to access a website from an external device to sign in to your Microsoft Account. After that, open Minecraft on your PS4. you will sign in to your Microsoft Account from within Minecraft, rather than your PS directly. The fifth step is to select Sign In For Free when prompted. Then, navigate to the displayed website. Looking back at Minecraft, you will see a code displayed below the URL. Please enter this one on your device to allow the access to your Microsoft Account. In the end, a new screen will confirm that your Xbox Live profile is now linked to Minecraft. You are now able to get the benefits of Minecraft Bedrock Edition on your PS4.
As you are now able to cozied up to Xbox Live on your PS, feel free to play with your friends and family from basically any gaming platform that has Minecraft. As long as they are on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, you are ready to play. There are three different methods of accomplishing this, from making a new world, joining the game of a friend, or joining in a Realm.
In some cases, some users cannot connect Microsoft Account to their PS4. Mojang knows the issue and is currently working on it. For meantime, you can try to fix it by clearing the cache from Minecraft on your PS4.
