Summon command in Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac)

  • In Minecraft Java Edition (Pc/Mac) 1.16, the command to summon a ghast fireball using the /summon command is:

/summon fireball [pos] [nbt]

  • In Minecraft Java Edition (Pc/Mac) 1.14, 1.15, and 1.16, the command to summon a ghast /summon command is:

/summon fireball <pos> <nbt>

  • However, you should provide the direction NBT tag unless you want the command to not work:

/summon fireball ~~ 1 ~ {direction: [0.0,0.0,0.0]}

Keep in mind that pos is needed. If you feel strange about it, it is the x y z coordinate where the fireball should spawn. As for NBT, it refers to the compound NBT tag that sets a property for the fireball such as {ExplosionPower:4}. The term used to be called a data tag.
