Where do you put a Shader pack? When installing optifine, put the shader (as a zip) in the Shaders folder which will appear once optifine is installed, then when you go on Minecraft select the Optifine version and launch it. When in Optifine Minecraft, you are able to click video settings, Shaders, and select your Shader pack.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD & INSTALL SHADERS
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD & INSTALL OPTIFINE
You have to note that Shaders is not technically a mod. It is a graphics pack that is installed in a similar manner to texture packs. The Shader packs are not supported by Vanilla Minecraft. In this case, you will need to install Optifine to get them up and running. Therefore, your task now is to download and install Optifine.
STEP 2: DOWNLOAD A SHADER PACK

STEP 3: OPEN YOUR SHADERS FOLDER
The next step, you are able to open the Minecraft launcher and play the ‘Optifine’ version. Once you are on the Minecraft main menu, you have to click the ‘Options…’ button. Afterwards, you are able to click the ‘Video Settings…’ button, and on the next page, please click ‘Shaders…’. Now, you need to click the ‘Shaders Folder’ button in the bottom left of Minecraft, and a folder window is going to open up.

The hardest part of getting Shaders installed is getting to the Shaders folder. When you are there, it is actually easy. You only need to take the Shaders you downloaded. This is in your ‘Downloads’ folder or on your desktop, and move it into the ‘shaderpacks’ folder you just opened. After that, you are able to close out of the folder, and restart Minecraft. Ensure when you are opening it back up you are selecting the ‘Optifine’ version. After you are back in Minecraft, redo step 3, but stop just before opening the ‘Shaders Folder’. You will see Shaders installed on the screen. Just click it, click ‘done’, and go play some Minecraft.
